world-wide supplier of French fries to McDonalds?

My recollection is that Simplot's use of frozen potatoes came along just in time to allow the company to bid to supply an upstart company run by Ray Kroc, McDonalds. In the early 1950s, before it became clear how big McDonalds would be, Simplot cut a contract to be the exclusive, world-wide supplier of French fries to McDonalds. Certainly that should be noted, if accurate. Corroboration? Edarrell 05:15, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is also said in the J._R._Simplot article, with a book mentioned as the source. -- 67.164.57.135 (talk) 18:08, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

William Whitacre is now the current CEO of Simplot. Page should be updated accordingly.
