Don Eppes

Charlie Eppes

Alan Eppes

Larry Fleinhardt

David Sinclair

David Sinclair

David Sinclair is a promising FBI recruit that Don Eppes has taken under his wing. David worked with Don for about a year, and was appointed to the team by the Assistant Director. He has some knowledge of defusing explosive devices due to his first posting overseas in Tel Aviv, Israel. He lives in Venice, California, but previously lived where it snowed heavily. He grew up in the Bronx. His sister, Linda, was divorced, but went back to her ex-husband, which upset David. In Season 2, David grew facial hair and is an officer with his own trainee, Colby Granger.

Amita Ramanujan

Amita Ramanujan

Amita Ramanujan is a beautiful former mathematics/computer science doctoral candidate who had Charlie Eppes as her thesis advisor. She sometimes helps him with his FBI work. Amita was born in California and her family was from southern India, speaking Tamil. Larry has said that she is the best programmer he and Charlie know. Her interest in astrophysics has led her to pursue a second doctoral degree (under Dr. Kepler) upon completion of her thesis on combinatorics; she said the reason for this is that she likes CalSci, but actually implied that the cause is more of an infatuation with Charlie. When Dr. Kepler became ill, she taught his course on the structure and dynamics of galaxies. She has given a solar physis presentation. Amita was to have an arranged marriage in her family's native country of India, but she did not allow that, much to Charlie's delight. (She described her would-be fiancé, a banker from Goa, as "a total ass.") She has recently claimed that she has no time for a serious relationship due to her graduate work on astrophysics, after Charlie became concerned with her association with Dr. Penfield, and assured him her interest was only of the intellectual nature. To her surprise, Amita won the 2006 Milton Prize for her dissertation, which Eppes, a previous recipient, presented to her. When Don's team rescued a pair of Indian teenagers from a group who sold their kidneys on the black market, she dedicated most of the Milton Prize money to help pay for their education. The rest was spent for her tuition and for a trip to India - a place she had never been to - with her grandmother. She has stated she knew more about surfing than her heritage; the trip is apparently an attempt to change that.

Megan Reeves

Megan Reeves

Megan Reeves is an FBI agent and psychological profiler. In "Judgment Call" Charlie gives Megan an origami flower after describing the basic concepts of reverse decision theory to her. She wants to ride in Dr. Fleinhardt's new car, agreeing with him that it is like artwork. Megan is persistent in her career and "calls things as she sees them." She has been traumatized by the death of Agent Gallagher, whom she led along with a team into a house that exploded. She has recently had a few lunches with Professor Larry Fleinhardt, who has feelings for her. In "Dark Matter," they go out to dinner. In "Mind Games," she reveals that she is estranged from her father, with whom she has not spoken in ten years. She has three older sisters.

Colby Granger

Colby Granger

Colby Granger is an FBI trainee who did a tour of duty with the Army's Criminal Investigation Division in Afghanistan and David Sinclair is his senior officer. After getting his college degree, Granger received three years of training in interrogation techniques. He was raised in a small town in Idaho and is a skilled golfer.

Terry Lake

Terry Lake

Terry Lake (Season 1) is the focused FBI partner to Don Eppes. A forensic psychologist, she often acts as the profiler for the team and as someone who can sometimes explain Charlie to Don. Like Don, she often does not understand Charlie's analysis of a situation until Charlie simplifies it at an intuitive and approximate level, but is more open to the mathematician's antics than her partner.

Terry Lake was reassigned to Washington, so she could rekindle her relationship with her husband. Sabrina Lloyd, who played Terry, did not return for the second season and Terry Lake did not appear in the last two episodes of the first season. Officially, CBS stated her contract had an option to leave after the first season and she chose to do so, and it was noted a new character would replace Terry Lake rather than simply have another actor portray her.
