The Walking Wounded is the third full length by punk band Bayside; released on February 6, 2007. "Duality" has been released as Bayside's first single off The Walking Wounded; it was made available for download on iTunes on January 23, 2007.

The album debuted at number 75 on the U.S. Billboard 200 in mid-February, with about 13,000 copies sold.[1]

The band re-issued The Walking Wounded on July 22nd. Dubbed The Walking Wounded: Gold Edition, the re-issue includes a special edition CD/DVD. The CD/DVD also includes new packaging, an acoustic set filmed at Looney Tunes record store in Long Island, a behind the scenes documentary from the tour with The Starting Line (a teaser video can be found on their MySpace page), and music videos.

Like their previous studio record, The Walking Wounded was produced by Shep Goodman and Kenny Gioia.

Notes

  • The album's title is likely a reference to a lyric from the song "All There Is" on Bad Religion's album The Empire Strikes First.
  • The song "They're Not Horses, They're Unicorns" is a reference to "The NeverEnding Story", making it the second Bayside song to reference the novel and 1984 film. The song was also featured in the soundtrack for Blitz: The League II.
  • The video for the first single, "Duality", was filmed over the last weekend in January 2007 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was premiered on Steven's Untitled Rock Show on Fuse TV, on February 7, 2007.
  • The band also filmed a video for the song "Carry On".
  • Part of the intro to the song "Dear Your Holiness" appears in a commercial for Cartoon Network.
  • The song "The Walking Wounded" is featured on the NHL 08 game soundtrack.
  • I Am the Avalanche's lead singer Vinnie Caruana does guest vocals on the song "The Walking Wounded".
  • Flag photos taken by Matt Wysocki in Chicago.
  • Band photos taken by David Schrott in the MERCH DIRECT Warehouse.
  • Album layout designed by Doublej.
  • "Duality" (Project Alice String Remix) appears on the Resident Evil: Extinction; Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
  • On the back cover of the Walking Wounded: Gold Edition, the bonus tracks are listed as starting on track 14, skipping over track 13.
  • The song "The Walking Wounded" is featured on Cartoon Network commercials for The Secret Saturdays
  • Anthony Raneri has stated that the song "Landing Feet First" is the first, and probably last, "love song" that he has ever written.
