Svetlana Podobedova (born May 25, 1986) is a Kazakh weightlifter of Russian descent. Born in Russia, Podobedova decided to acquire a Kazakhstani passport after the authorities in her hometown handed her a ban for a positive dope test[1].

She won the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the women's 75 kg category with a total of 291 kg.
