Eindecker

Eindecker is a German term, meaning "single-decker" or "having one deck"; Eindecker refers to aeroplanes with single sets of wings, known as monoplanes. The term Eindecker may be used for any monoplane of German origin but is particularly associated with the Fokker Eindeckers of 1916 (Fokker E.I, Fokker E.II, Fokker E.III and Fokker E.IV). The Eindecker was also a class of aircraft in the Idflieg designation system used by the German military air services prior to 1919, using designations prefixed by E.
