Template:Spanish name Daniel Carvajal Ramos (born 11 January 1992) is a Spanish footballer who currently plays for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. His preferred position is as at right defender.

Club career

Real Madrid Castilla

Carvajal was born in Leganés, Spain, a suburb of Madrid. His youth career began at Lemans in 1999. He joined the Real Madrid youth system as a ten year old in the Benjamins level and continued successfully through the ranks up to promotion to the highest youth level, Real Madrid Castilla, in 2010. Carvajal played a total of 44 times for the reserve team and scored two goals in the process. During his time at Real Madrid Castilla, he was vice captain and a key part of the success of the team in the Segunda División. Although he was successful at the youth level, he failed to earn himself an appearance in the senior squad.

After two years with Real Madrid Castilla, he signed for Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in 2012.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen

On 11 July 2012, Carvajal signed with Bayer Leverkusen for a transfer fee of €5 million. Real Madrid added on a buy-back clause in the region of €6.5 million if they want the youngster back after one season, €7 million after two seasons and approximately €8.5 million after his third season.

Carvajal made his Bundesliga debut on 1 September 2012 in a 2–0 victory against SC Freiburg. He was named to the First Bundesliga Team of the Week.[1]

International career

Carvajal played for the Spain under-19 team, getting 12 caps and two goals and playing for the winning side for the U-19 team in the European championships.
