Mihkel Harilaid also known as Mike Harilaid is the CEO and executive producer of Black Walk, a Canadian feature film and television production company.
Career
Harilaid and two partners formed the production entity in 1992 and it grew, winning more MuchMusic Video awards than all of its competitors and producing over 500 videos including hits from numerous A-list talent. Along with his business partner and president of the company Brigitte Kingsley, Harilaid oversees both the creative and business life of Black Walk. In addition to Harilaid's media ventures he also owns Harilaid Corp. a real estate and management company focused on environmentally conscious and diverse investments. The goal is to work with tenants, the community and business for profitable and sustainable growth.

Harilaid started his education at Trinity College School, where he graduated in 1985. Currently he is a chairman of the TCS Alumni Association. He then went to Trinity College/University of Toronto where he got a BA in History in 1989. He then got his CPM from I.R.E.M.(Institute of Real Estate Management), and his FPI and CRF from R.E.I.C. (The Real Estate Institute of Canada). He has also written two books.

Activism
Harilaid also is an active environmentalist who owns a self-sustainable farm, as well as running an investment real estate business focused on redevelopment properties including the low income facility in Port Hope, Ontario known as the Tower Hotel.
Green Party candidate
Harilaid was the Green Party candidate in the 2008 and 2011 federal elections in Ajax—Pickering.
Personal Life
Harilaid has two children (a daughter and son) from a previous relationship. He has been dating Alex Vass since October 2011. Among his many interests are diving, sustainable farming and horses. **
