The Lonely Forest is an American indie rock band.

History

The band was formed in Anacortes, Washington and consists of singer/guitarist/keyboardist John Van Deusen, guitarist Tony Ruland, drummer Braydn Krueger, and bassist Eric Sturgeon.

In 2006 the band won the Experience Music Project "SoundOff!" competition and released their EP Regicide which was produced by Jack Endino. Ruland left the band shortly after the release of the EP.[1]

Their album, Nuclear Winter, was released in August, 2007. Ruland then rejoined the band in 2008 and they released "We Sing The Body Electric!" in April 2009.

The band later signed with Chris Walla's record label, Trans, an imprint of Atlantic records.[2]
