Barrie McKay (born 30 December 1994)[3] is a Scottish footballer who plays for Scottish Third Division side Rangers, as a striker.

Career

McKay began his career as a youth player for Kilmarnock where he spent seven years,[4] before joining Rangers in the summer of 2011.[5]

Rangers

Originally a member of the club's under-19 squad.[6] McKay made his first team debut on 13 May 2012, in a 4–0 win against St. Johnstone.[7] On 11 August 2012, he scored Rangers first goal in the club's inaugural game in the Third Division,[8] a 2–2 draw against Peterhead.[9] On 28 August 2012 it was reported that Liverpool and Everton were interested in McKay.[10] On 11 September 2012 McKay pledged his future to Rangers for another five years.[11]

Personal life

He is the brother of fellow footballer Daniel McKay.[14]
