Dear editor,

Several of the edits you recently added to Arizona State University were found to be pasted directly from online text. This is a copyright violation, and is strictly forbidden (see WP:CV for more information). In addition, many of your additions seem to contradict explicitly stated information from the references that you and others provide. Finally, several of your edits seem to potentially violate either the WP:NPOV or WP:OR policies. While you are free to edit Wikipedia, please do so within its guidelines. Finally, please do not simply "undo" edits without explanation--further such behavior could result in you being blocked from editing. -Nicktalk 03:18, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

November 2012

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Arizona State University, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks, Jim1138 (talk) 05:21, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You changed the building description without explanation or, more importantly, giving a reliable source for your change. Please see verifiablity, reliable source, and citing sources. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 05:27, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sources should be added to the edit at the same time. Use <ref>[http://asuma.asu.edu Arizona State University Museum of Anthropology]</ref> It should indicate that it was the old industrial arts building, if possible. I added a welcome section for you to learn about editing Wikipedia. Looks like you are getting overwhelmed. If you need assistance, please feel free to leave a note on the *bottom* of my talk page. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 05:32, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright Violations

CopyVio / NPOV

Dear Editor,

In reviewing some of your recent edits, I again found that many of your contributions are direct copy & paste from various websites. As you are warned directly above the editing box, any content that violates copyright will be deleted--this is a requirement of Wikipedia. As such, some of your recent additions will be removed.

In addition, I assume that you are trying to be helpful with your edits, but there are two additional issues I need to mention: First, it appears that you are potentially in violation of the WP:NPOV (neutral point of view) rule. When you do copy/paste text, I notice that you strategically leave out portions that may not fit with your opinion of the article topic. E.g., you made a direct copy of this page but left out the phrase of "not one main campus with branch campuses." I assume this is because you feel that the Tempe campus is the "main" one, with the others being branches. Unfortunately, that is not a verifiable statement, and is merely opinion that directly contradicts ASU's own organization.

Finally, please make more of an effort to research things before unilaterally deciding that something stated in the article isn't true. On the talk page, you say there is "no evidence" that the School of Evolution and Social Change building was ever the industrial arts building. It took me less than five seconds and one google search to find that you are incorrect (see here). -Nicktalk 16:13, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
