Michael Kingma (born 9 August 1979) is an Australian professional basketball player.

Kingma was born in Manly, Australia. He started his basketball playing as a junior in Manly, NSW. Kingma played for seven seasons in Australia's National Basketball League, including six seasons with the Sydney Kings. He was a member of the Kings' 2003 NBL championship team,[1] averaging 2.8 points and 1.8 rebounds that year.

For the 2003/04 season Kingma joined the Hunter Pirates, before leaving Australia. He briefly played in Belgium and in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands. In 2006 he moved to Sweden to play for Sundsvall Dragons. In 2007 and 2008 he played for Borås Basket, returning to Sundsvall for the 2009/10 season.[2]

Kingma played in the Queensland Australian Basketball League (QABL) for the Rockhampton Rockets. Championship winning team.

Currently, for the 2010/11 season, Kingma has signed with British Basketball League team Glasgow Rocks.[3] Glasgow didn't need him anymore so he is now now a free agent.

Kingma now (2012/13 season) plays for the Groningen (The Netherlands) based team GasTerra Flames.

Outside of basketball, Kingma, along with fellow Australian basketballers Axel Dench and David Stiff, played a bit part in Star Wars: Episode III as a Wookiee. Kingma played a character named Tarfful.[4] The players were chosen as Wookiees for their height; Kingma stands 212 centimeters (6 feet, 10 inches) in height.
