A Monument to Nizami Ganjavi – is a monument to the great Persian poet[1] Nizami Ganjavi. The monument is in Baku in Nizami square, on intersection of Istiglaliyyat, Ahmad Javad, Azerbaijan and Islam Safarli streets. Opening ceremony of the monument was held in April, 1949. Sculptor of the monument was Fuad Abdurahmanov - People’s Artist of Azerbaijan.[2][3][4]

The monument is a 6 metered bronze statue installed on 9 metered octahedral pedestal. The pedestal is of red labrador, and elements of Azerbaijani architecture of Nizami’s epoch were used in its handling. There is an ornamental carving and faced bronze plates on the lower part of the monument. There are scenes from Nizami’s works on 7 plates, but a memorial inscription on one.
