Marie Forleo

Marie Forleo is a best-selling author, speaker, web TV host, and trainer in personal development, entrepreneurship and marketing [1]. Her book, Make Every Man Want You: How to Be So Irresistible You'll Barely Keep from Dating Yourself!, is published by McGraw-Hill in 11 languages [2]. Her company focuses on creating entrepreneurship and personal development training [3].

Starting Out

Forleo was born and raised in New Jersey. She attended Seton Hall University [1] and graduated Valedictorian with degree in business finance.

After college, Forleo worked on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange [2] as a trading assistant before leaving to work at both Gourmet Magazine [3] and Mademoiselle Magazine [4].

Forleo began working as a life coach in 2001 [4].

In 2004 she began working as a hip-hop instructor at Crunch Fitness [5], worked as a choreographer and producer for MTV’s Say What Karaoke [6] and began creating fitness videos with Crunch, Anchor Bay Entertainment [7], Women’s Health Magazine [8] and Prevention magazine [9].

Forleo has been interviewed by Tony Robbins [10] [5] for his DVD training program The New Money Masters [6]. She was also named a “thought leader for the next generation” by Oprah [11] [7] when interviewed on the OWN Network’s Super Soul Sunday [8].

In 2010, Sir Richard Branson invited Forleo to mentor young entrepreneurs in South Africa at his Center of Entrepreneurship [12] [9] .

MarieTV

In late 2010, Forleo established MarieTV, a weekly online YouTube show.

MarieTV was named an official Webby honoree in 2012 in the category of Best Web Personality / Host [13] [10].

B-School

Forleo founded the Rich Happy and Hot B-School program in 2010. B-School is an 8-week online digital training program for modern entrepreneurs [11].

Philanthropy

Forleo donates a portion of her programs’ profits to women and girl-focused and education related philanthropies and organizations [12].

Some organizations she has supported include Kiva.org [14] [13], GirlUp [14], and Pencils of Promise [15].

In 2013, Forleo began working with Pencils of Promise to build a school and fully fund it for 3 years.
