BBC Young Musician of the Year is a televised competition for British keyboard, percussion, string, brass and woodwind players, up to 18 years old.

The competition was established in 1978, and runs every two years. The percussion category was added in 1994. Competitors proceed through local and regional finals, then quarter and semi finals, to produce winners in each of the five instrument classes. In the final, these five winners compete for the overall title by performing a concerto with a major orchestra, at a major venue, broadcast live on BBC2. In 2006 they performed with the Northern Sinfonia at the Sage Gateshead.

Associated with a European competition, Eurovision Young Musicians, founded in 1982.
