Simone Stella

Simone Stella (born 1981 in Florence) is an Italian harpsichordist and organist.

Biography

He studied with Francesco Cera, Fausto Caporali and, in specializing master courses, with Ton Koopman, Matteo Imbruno, Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Luca Scandali, Giancarlo Parodi, Stefano Innocenti, Klemens Schnorr, Ludger Lohmann, Michel Bouvard, Monika Henking, and Guy Bovet.

Career and recordings

After winning some major organ competitions in Italy (The 2nd and 3rd A. Esposito Youth Organ Competitions (Lucca, 2004-05), and the 1st Agati-Tronci International Organ Competition (Pistoia, 2008), he recorded c. 16 discs for the Italian label OnClassical including the Handel's Suites for harpsichord, I book, and the complete Buxtehude and Bohm's organ and harpsichord works, that has also been released by Brilliant Classics.
