The Nautilus laser is a weapon system jointly developed by the U.S. and Israel to intercept long-range missiles such as the Scud. The system has been developed by Northrop Grumman and Israeli optics firms. The project was the continuation of an anti-missile laser weapons system started under the administration of Bill Clinton in the U.S. and Shimon Peres in Israel; it was known then as the Pillar of Fire project. TRW was the main US contractor.

After initial funding for the project in 2003, the first successful test was announced in Spring 2004.
