Nathan Benjamin Aké (born 18 February 1995 in The Hague, the Netherlands) is a Netherlands youth footballer who currently plays for Chelsea. He plays as a defender. Primarily a central defender or a holding midfielder, he can also be deployed as a left back.

Club career

Early Career

Nathan joined Chelsea from Excelsior, where he played since the age of 12 after joining them from ADO Den Haag.

Aké made his début in the Premier League on 26 December 2012 against Norwich City. He replaced Juan Mata in the 90th minute, who scored the only goal for Chelsea in the 0–1 away win.[3] He made his first start in the FA Cup on 27 February 2013, in 2-0 win against Middlesbrough.[4]

International career

Nathan has represented Netherlands at U17 and U19 level. He has captained both sides, earning praise for his performances in midfield for the U17s[5]
