Plot

It's June and the interns are one day away from becoming full-fledged residents. They're excited, but there is something else in the air. Carla and Turk are arguing about dating other people. Elliot finally rebels against being everyone's doormat and J.D. is just trying to stay out of people's way. Adding to the weirdness is Jordan, who has returned to get a physical.

A new patient, Mr. Bober, has been admitted because he needs his gall bladder removed. He really needs the surgery, but doesn't have the insurance to pay for it. They enlist the help of Dr. Cox, Dr. Wen and Jordan. The two doctors agree, but Jordan needs some coaxing.

After one of their regular conjugal visits, Cox tells Jordan that although he is still attracted to her, he is in therapy to not be attracted to abrasive and hard women like her. Although she puts up a front, Jordan is very hurt by his comments.

When the board meeting convenes, they vote to allow Mr. Bober to have the surgery.

Although she helped Mr. Bober get his surgery, Jordan leaves a final bombshell with the group - revealing everyone's secrets about one another. She tells Carla that Dr. Cox is in love with her and Turk has always known about it; the job Dr. Kelso offered to Cox doesn't exist; Elliot still has feelings for J.D.; and the final bomb - she and J.D. slept together. Hurt, confused and angry, each person goes their own separate way.

Trivia

  • J.D. gets to know that Elliot is still interested in him.
  • Carla finds out that Dr. Cox is attracted to her and that Turk knew without telling her.

(The DVD version replaces "Away" by Leroy with "Only One" by Jeremy Kay.)
