Osman Khalid Butt is an actor-director and writer based in Islamabad, Pakistan. He began his career in theatre in 2005, working with Shah Sharahbeel, Tulin Khalid-Azim, Ghazala Siddiqui and Junaid Malik amongst others. In 2007, he formed his own production company, The Living Picture Productions, under the banner of which he has directed four plays. In 2011, he also gained popularity by producing video blogs on YouTube under the channel name TheLivingPicture. He has also acted in both television & film, and has modeled in various advertisements.

Personal life

Osman was born in Islamabad, Pakistan on February 9,1986. He is the youngest son of eminent television actor, director and screenwriter Dr. Khalid Said Butt. He has one brother and one sister.

Career

He is dubbed the Pakistani Orlando Bloom [1] by his increasing number of fans and has played supporting roles in two films, Zibakhana [2] and Slackistan.[3] Slackistan is an independent movie directed by London-based filmmaker, Hammad Khan, in which he played the role of Saad. Slackistan has not been released in Pakistan due to objections raised by Central Board of Film Censors. In 2012, he acted in a television serial "Aik Nayee Cinderella" on Geo TV.

He is also the co-founder, creative lead and poetry editor at Desi Writers Lounge,[4] an online, 24/7, 365 days a year writers' workshop and community, that aims to showcase new voices in South Asian writing through their biannual publication, 'Papercuts'.[5]
