Burnell Taylor (born April 14, 1993) is an American singer and reality television talent show contestant. He was a Top 10 finalist on the 12th season of American Idol.[1] He was eliminated on April 4, 2013, and came in 7th place.[2]

Early life

Burnell Taylor was born on April 14, 1994, in from New Orleans, Louisiana. Taylor graduated from Sarah T. Reed High School in 2011. He and his family were survivors of Hurricane Katrina.[3]

American Idol

Taylor auditioned in Baton Rouge, singing "I'm Here". He performed the same song during the semifinals. On March 7, 2013, Taylor was voted into the Top 10.[1] He received the lowest amount of votes after his Top 7 performance and was sent home on April 4, 2013 after the judges decided against using their "Judges' Save" power.[2]
