Han Myung-Sook (한명숙, 韓明淑, born March 24 1944) is a Korean deputy from the ruling Uri Party. She is a graduate of Ehwa University with a degree in French literature.

In 2001 to 2003 Han was Minister of Gender Equality and from 2003 to 2004 Minister of |Environment. [1]

On March 24 2006, following the resignation of Prime Minister Lee Hae Chan, President Roh Moo Hyun nominated Han to become the first female Prime Minister of South Korea.

On April 20, 2006, Han Myung-Sook became the first female Prime Minister of South Korea.
