In 2013 the term royal baby is being widely used to refer to the, as yet, unborn first child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.[1][2][3][4] The baby is due in mid-July 2013. The baby, whether a boy or a girl, will be third in line for the British throne, behind their grandfather, Prince Charles and father, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge.
