Karukachal is a small village in Kottayam district of Kerala state in India. Karukachal is 20 km from Kottayam town. The nearest railway station is Changanassery, which is 15 km away. Nearest Airport was 'Cochin International Airport' 'State Highway 9 starts at Kottayam (from km 151/600 of SH 1 and overlaps K K Road from km 0/0 to 3/600) and runs south-east touching Puthupally and Thottakkad, before entering Pathanamthitta District past Karukachal. State High 9 and Changanacherry-Kumaly Road Meet at Karukachal. Kottayam-Karukachal-Manimala-Mukkada-Edamon-Athikkayam-Perunadu-Pamba. Distance: 100 km, Route was famous for Sabarimala pilgrims.
