Coal industry?

I;ve removed the following from the Newark Castle section where it's not relevant:

Also A fairly large industry was the coal business owned mainly by a Mr Martin Docherty of Port Glasgow.

Given that most towns had coalyards, this hardly seems notable. I'd have thought Vango and Playtex were more significant in the past, but sadly relegated now and not particularly exceptional. A more promising thing to add would be the Gourock Ropeworks, both for historical significance and as a listed building. What's up with it now; is it being converted to flats? ..dave souza, talk 22:37, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rock bands

Moved this text below out of the history section, as it had been inserted into the middle of an unrelated paragraph. I wasn't able to verify notability for these bands or the "Inverclyde Battle it off." -- Csari
