Coal industry?[edit]

I;ve removed the following from the Newark Castle section where it's not relevant:

Also A fairly large industry was the coal business owned mainly by a Mr Martin Docherty of Port Glasgow.

Given that most towns had coalyards, this hardly seems notable. I'd have thought Vango and Playtex were more significant in the past, but sadly relegated now and not particularly exceptional. A more promising thing to add would be the Gourock Ropeworks, both for historical significance and as a listed building. What's up with it now; is it being converted to flats? ..dave souza, talk 22:37, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rock bands[edit]

Moved this text below out of the history section, as it had been inserted into the middle of an unrelated paragraph. I wasn't able to verify notability for these bands or the "Inverclyde Battle it off." -- Csari

Map[edit]

Can someone please fix the location map so that the red dot isn't floating offshore? Davidships (talk) 23:33, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Red dot was fixed. Now over the town centre. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tam Nugent (talkcontribs) 21:21, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
