Bedtime Math is a non-profit organization[3] focused on getting young kids excited to do mathematics. The organization runs a website and a daily email list that provide a playful daily math problem for parents to do with their kids. email.[3] In June 2013, its founder, Laura Bilodeau Overdeck, also published a best-selling children's book, Bedtime Math. The organization also offers a mobile application for Android and IPhone OS.[4] The organization has been featured in the NYT parenting blog, USA Today, NPR and the book featured on NPR Science Friday and reviewed in the WSJ. When Overdeck first launched the daily blog in February 2012, "within a week her list of subscribers had tripled...That’s heartening news for educators who bemoan the state of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education in the U.S." [5] Bedtime Math has since expanded into providing hands-on math games for young children through their free "pajama parties" for libraries; upon launching this offering in March 2013, within 6 months over 600 libraries across the U.S. had held Bedtime Math pajama parties, serving over 20,000 children.[6] According to the Bedtime Math website, the daily email currently has over 30,000 subscribers and an additional 12,000 followers on Facebook.
