- Consensus?! By only 2 users?! Have you actually dared to read the LOOOOOONG discussion archives?! What you call "consensus" is a total contradiction to the REAL consensus among scholar, as represented in this authoritative academic encyclopaedia (one of the prestige projects of Columbia University). Be honest: do you have ANY expertise in this subject?! This is ridiculous! I will ask other users to help out ... people who know the academic sources and who know how to differentiate between sources. But thankfully, a more knowlegable user has already reacted ... New features
- You can now choose which language to show for SVG files that contain several languages, using the "lang" option, like
[[File:Gerrit_patchset_25838_test.svg|lang=de]]for the German layer of File:Gerrit patchset 25838 test.svg. - Developers are looking for wiki communities to try the new search system. [1]
VisualEditor news
- You can now create and edit references inside media captions. [2]
- You now need to press the "delete" key twice to delete a template, reference or image; the first time, they only become selected, to avoid accidental deletion of infoboxes and similar content. [3]
- When you resize images, you will now still see them, and their size will also be seen in the center. [4] [5]
Future
- The new notifications system ("Echo") will be added to almost all wikis that don't already have it on October 22. It will notify you of changes and events that affect you. [6]
- MediaWiki 1.22wmf22 was added to test wikis on October 17. It will arrive to non-Wikipedia wikis on October 21 and all Wikipedia wikis on October 24 (calendar).

The Category:Office comedies deletion
This one has me a bit puzzled. How does an AFC/C submission get accepted then shortly thereafter deleted? I noticed its empty status (despite my suggested articles and categories for inclusion) shortly after it was accepted, noticed later on the note about its pending deletion due to it being empty, and was considering filling it up with some articles, but now - Poof! - it's gone. Was there some reason my suggested articles were not included and could their inclusion have prevented the deletion? I'm not terribly active here and can be very procrastinatory with the edits (hence my preferred use of AFC with it's smooth, efficient, and official-like process for category creation) so my apologies for my recent inaction, but if I had known this would happen, I might have intervened to added some articles as soon as the submission was accepted.
