Music Consultants Incorporated

Music Consultants Incorporated redirects here without explanation. The name change should be explained in the article text. Binksternet (talk) 18:13, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have marked the other page for quick deletion. Hopefully this will happen soon Chrisfromcanberra (talk)

MCI (audio)

When I saw Music Center Incorporated on my watch list I did not recognize the name. Most people know the company as simply MCI. I think it would make sense to change the page name from [Music Center Incorporated] to [MCI (audio)] or [MCI (audio manufacturer)]. It is sort of like calling water di-hydrogen oxide rather than h2o. Both are correct, one is much more recognizable.

I'm okay with your proposed moves, especially MCI (audio) which is shorter. My chem prof told us it was Hydrogen hydroxide. :P

'plug in my m.c.i.'

the lyric of the police song "when the world is running down, you make the best of what's still around" (1980), includes the lines, "plug in my m.c.i. to exercise my brain / make records on my own..."

does "...my m.c.i...." refer to a portable, personal use-type product made by the company that is the subject of this article? i can't find anything online that explains that reference.

unless i missed something, this article refers to only high end/pro gear used in recording studios, but on youtube, there's a video of sting showing to jools holland, in 1981, a boom box-looking cassette player that also has a built-in rhythm machine and (i think) some multitrack recording capability. he explains that he used it to record rudimentary demo recordings of famous police songs, etc. did m.c.i. make such a thing? trying to pin down the meaning of that 'my m.c.i.' line. thanks. 63.142.146.194 (talk) 06:25, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
