Francisco J. Ricardo, Ph.D (born January 27, 1962) is an author, musician, art theorist, and filmmaker. Ricardo is co-founder of the Digital Video Research Archive at Boston University, and is also the founding editor of the book series, International Texts in Critical Media Aesthetics published by Bloomsbury. In addition to editing several books both within and outside the series, Dr. Ricardo recently published The Engagement Aesthetic: Experiencing New Media Art through Critique.

Career[edit]

Ricardo consulted for years for various companies in computer programming before beginning to teach art theory, and in particular digital media theory, at the Rhode Island School of Design
