Where does Zion get food? And how is it sulf-sustaining? It would be good if these questions were answered.--Exander 05:20, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Zion's food is manufactured using simple minerals and amino acids by (ironically) machines. These machines are not controlled by the ai conciousness, as was revealed in Matrix Reloaded, but are simply there to provide Zion with its essentials. This food is not very desirable and is compared in the movies to runny eggs, a bowl of snot, and of course...Tastee Wheat.--Doncroft 03:44, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They also have bread- as seen in Reloaded. One of the comics explains how they got their hands on the technology.

There are also edible mushrooms that grow on pipes in Zion, there are pictures in the zion Archive at the offical website. Slice13

I think I remember reading that the use of the name "Zion" got some of the matrix movies banned in some Arab countries... AnonMoos 14:07, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is there ever any mention (Art of Matrix books perhaps) of the origins of Zion? I find it hard to believe that the One and 23 freed people are able to build an underground city capable of housing a quarter-million. Is it possible that the machines built Zion, or it perhaps already existed (I'm thinking as a shelter leftover from the man-machine war of the 2100s)Slice13 22:47, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Location of Zion

Are you sure Zion is only 4 kms from Earth's surface? I heard in one of the movies (revolutions I elieve) that no human had approached the surface at less than 100 kms. Or it is 0.1? Anyways please check this issue out :)

Pronunciation

Is the pronunciation of the word "zion" intentionally different in the films than when it refers to land of Zion. In the movies it sounds like the pronounce it zION while when it refers to the land I've always heard it pronounced with the ION less emphasized. Is this significant or is it just me? Rebuild 6 times?

Did this really happen 6 times over the span of just 200 years? Each time starting over with just 23 people who had to rebuild/repair this gigantic city? 195.169.213.92 (talk) 18:30, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not neccessarily. As Morpheus explains to Neo, the survivors of Zion really don't know what year it is from the Matrix-simiulated time-frame of the late 1999's, A.D., or the war against the machines, which took place in the middle 21st. Century. However, if the reference of 100-years is a standard fro the destruction\reconstruction of Zion and the Matrix, then we should consider anywhere from 600, 800, to probably 1,000-years, or even more in the "future" from the year 2000AD as a foundation, depending how fast each re-initialized population of Zion grew until it was deemed by the machines a threat. (The unknown timeline itself should pose a frigtening concept to the "Zioninistas".) --67.86.106.69 (talk) 06:21, 6 November 2011 (UTC)Veryverser[reply]

It should be noted that after the events of "Revolutions", the latest version of the "Matrix" is now the seventh. If the Merovegian was not one of the four or five "anomalies", then he has knowlege of them. He and Persephone could end the "conflict" permanently. Also, Councilor Hamann was not the only white male comprising the leadership of the advisor body. There was one other white male at the far-right end of the table. --67.86.98.26 (talk) 03:13, 27 December 2011 (UTC)Veryverser[reply]

Zion = Zionism. İlluminati's New World Order in movies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.235.63.224 (talk) 09:18, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Zion=Zionism=Jewish insistence on Jewish references in very Jewish Hollywood. Pertaining to the movie series, given that the underground, refugee (or, rather "refugee repositsistory" of "Zion" is more or less a captive "nation" to the "Machine Empire". Actually, Zion resembles a vast prison cage complex, and as far as the "Machines" were concerned (that is, until "The Oracle" brought Morpheus, and Neo into the mix,) the "zionists" were going about doing their "roach errands", all to avail nothing when the Machines "punched" their collective tickets when it came time to annilhalate them! --65.88.88.73 (talk) 15:33, 22 March 2014 (UTC)Veryverser[reply]

Aren't the "Blue Pills" Really Cyborgs?

Hasn't it occured to anyone out there in this whole wide blue ball called Earth that the "Blue Pills", the liberated thralls of the Matrix Machine empire are in fact cyborgs? They were "conceived" as such by the Machines themselves. Their sub-dermal 'nodes', which connected them to the Matrix are part of their biology; their entire beings are jammed with circuitry, which fed them both physically, and mentally (in the last part-of course-the illusionary enviroment of the Matrix). When their brain stems node are plugged into the Matrix interface, well, this should inform anyone that they are more narrowly defined as cybernetic organisms, part machine, part human physicality. This raises a universe of speculation as to what their thought processes are: How independent are each of them, and are any one of their thoughts antipole to the Matrix program such that any one of them in time would become rebellious to the continuous "coded" indoctrianation of the machine? Once released from "the enviroment" and introduced to reality, would at least some of the "Blues" have become preprogrammed to act as "deep-cover" agents, even without their knowing it (this scenario was more recently played-out in 'Battle Star Gallatica"). Lastly, could not the Machines broadcast "messages" to the "Bluesies" via their "nodes? This could be why some of the natural-born inhabitants of "Zion" feel either edgy, or sometimes down-right suspicious of the "Bluesies" even though the entire group of humans are totally integrated socially? could a "pod-born" possibly partially project himself into the matrix as a "simultron"-type digital "skeleton", as it was supposed that "Morpheus" had done in the "Enter the Matrix" interactive video game? Their are more possibilities with this notion of "Blue Pills" being cyborgs. --65.88.88.73 (talk) 15:34, 22 March 2014 (UTC)Veryverser[reply]
