Awareness Technologies is an American corporation headquartered in Westport, Connecticut that develops, manufactures, licenses, and sells computer monitoring and cell phone monitoring software as a service.[2]
History
The company was founded in 2002 in Los Angeles, California by Mike Osborn and Ron Penna.[3] Originally, the company developed technology that monitored electronic transmissions for uses of counter-terrorism.[4]
In 2010 a group headed by Brad Miller (former CEO of Perimeter eSecurity[5]) and First New England Capital invested $6.5 million.[6] In 2012, the company headquarters was relocated from Marina del Rey, California to Westport, Connecticut.
In 2014 Awareness Technologies joined an alliance with Credit Union National Association as part of "CUNA Strategic Services."[7][8]

InterGuard - Employee monitoring, web content filtering, keystroke logging, data loss prevention and laptop theft recovery software as a service suite.[9]
WebWatcher for PC and WebWatcher for MAC - Parental control monitoring, keystroke logging, and web content filtering software.
WebWatcher Mobile for iOS, Android, and BlackBerry - Cell phone monitoring software.
Laptop Cop - Remote file retrieval & deletion and geolocation software.
Awards/Distinctions
Awareness Technologies has been ranked multiple times[10] on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America. In 2008 the company was ranked #379. In 2010 Awareness Technologies was ranked #42 with a 5-year relative growth rate in revenue greater than 3300%.[11] In 2011 the company was ranked #118.[12]
Awareness Technologies has also been ranked as part of the Inc. Magazine "Inc. 5000" list of the 5000 fastest-growing private companies in the United States.[1]
The Los Angeles Business Journal has twice ranked Awareness Technologies as one of the top 100 fastest growing private companies in the Los Angeles region.[13]
WebWatcher received the PC Magazine editors’ choice award in a 2011 review of Parental Control & Monitoring software.[14] Also, About.com readers named WebWatcher as the “Best Internet Safety Tool” as part of its 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards.[15]
Users
Awareness Technologies products under the InterGuard software suite are used by financial services and health care organizations.[16] InterGuard gives administrators the ability to monitor activities of remote employees who work off of the corporate domain.[16]
