Nan Rich is an American politician from the state of Florida. She served as a Democratic member of the Florida Senate from 2004 to 2012. Between 2010 and 2012 she served as the Senate Minority Leader and was term-limited out of the State Senate in 2012. She served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2004.
She is a candidate for Governor of Florida in 2014,.[1][2] Nan Rich received endorsements from both the Florida NOW and NOWInc. as well as from the last Democratic Governor to serve Florida, Gov. Buddy MacKay.[3]
Prior to running for public office, Nan was the National President of the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) for the 1996-1999 triennium – the first Floridian elected to that office in the organization’s 120 year history.[4] In 1999, President Bill Clinton appointed her to serve as a Board Member of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.[5]
