My Son is Gay is an upcoming Indian feature film.[1] The independent film is written and directed by Lokesh, a filmmaker from Chennai, India. The film is initially produced by Anil Saxena and Starlight Unisex Saloon, further it will be crowd-funded. The film is an emotional journey and struggles of an orthodox mother and her gay son to accept the truth. It features Anupama Kumar, a noted Tamil actress, as the mother and Nakshatra Bagwe, an actor, filmmaker and LGBT rights activist as the son, in lead roles.[2] [3] [4] [5]

Plot

This film is about the relationship between a mother and her son. The mother is a widow and lives alone with the boy and is extremely attached to him. When the boy realises that he’s gay, he opens up to his mother about it and the film is about how she struggles to come to terms with that fact.
