Mahesh Sri Ramkrishna Ashram Vidyalaya (Higher Secondary) is an unique institution in Hooghly District as well as in W.B. The founder of the of the institution Swami Premghanananda joined Belur Math in 1924 and worked in different branch offices of the Math. He also wrote some books for the mental and spiritual uplift of the children as well as the adolescent. After the independence of our country he came to Rishra and set up this institution in very little space. Within one year he procured necessary land and set up a primary school in 1952. With the advancement of time this school flourished gradually. Thus the long-cherished dream of the founder got its fulfillment when this institution got the affiliation from the W.B.B.S.E. in 1959 as a Madhyamik (secondary) school. The demand for admission in this school is also remarkable. With the benevolence and noble gestures of the well-wishers this institution also got the affiliation from Higher Secondary Council in 2005 as a Higher Secondary School. Now there are five sections (one nursery, two primary schools, one Secondary and one Higher Secondary) under one umbrella. Students are privileged to enjoy a common room, reading room and airy classrooms. This Higher Secondary section is one integrated unit of this Institution.[1]
