Pelsall
Pelsall is a small village to the North of Walsall, it was first recorded in the year 994 as being a small hamlet.
Landmarks
The main landmark in Pelsall was for many years the The Fingerpost at the junction of the Norton Road and the Lichfield Road.
Since the late 90's Pelsall has also had its Millennium Stone marking the 994-1994 Millennium of the village.
It is well known for it's annual carnival, with decorated floats and bric-a-brac stalls.
Pelsall is quiet green with a large turf central common around which are are pubs, two fish and chips shops and cottages.
Education
Pelsall is currently home to four primary schools; St Michael’s CofE, Pelsall JMI, Ryders Hayes School and Rushall JMI.
Pelsall was also home to Pelsall Comp which opened in the 1960's and closed in 1995. The bulidings are now home to Rushall JMI School, Education Walsall offices and an Teacher training center.
Places of Worship
The parish church of Pelsall is St Michaels and All Angels Church, besides this Pelsall is also home to Pelsall Evangelical Church and Pelsall Methodist Church. Over the years many other places of worship have come and gone.
