1982 kidnapping of Iranian diplomats

Upon invasion of Lebanon on July 4 1982, four Iranian diplomats were allegedly kidnapped by militiamen and Israeli forces at an inspection point for the Lebanese Forces in north Lebanon. Their fate was never determined but it is presumed they are dead.

The alleged missing diplomats are:

  • Ahmad Motevaselian
  • Seyed Mohsen Mousavi
  • Taghi Rastegar Moghadam
  • Kazem Akhvan

Iran called on the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to clarify the whereabouts of four Iranian diplomats kidnapped in Lebanon in 1982.
