FC Alma-Ata (Kazakh: Алма-Ата Футбол Клубы) was a Kazakh association football club based in Almaty between 2000-2009.

History

The club was formed as FC Tsesna in 2000. In 2003 the club won promotion to Kazakhstan Premier League, where they played 5 consecutive seasons as FC Alma-Ata at Almaty Central Stadium. In 2006 they won their first major honours, the Kazakhstan Cup, and qualified for the 2007-08 UEFA Cup. Their first outing was unsuccessful as they were eliminated in the first qualifying round by Slovakian side FC ViOn Zlaté Moravce. At the beginning of 2009, the club announced itself bankrupt. The most of club staff joined FC Megasport and formed FC Lokomotiv Astana.
