Vatsal Sheth(born August 5, 1980) is an Indian actor, model and a young entrepreneur.He started his acting career with Just Mohabbat ,a hindi-drama serial loosely based on The Wonder Years, which aired on Sony TV channel. He made his debut in Taarzan: The Wonder Car opposite Ayesha Takia who also made her debut in the same film. He has also starred in movies like Paying Guests,Heroes,Hostel, a Disney Film The Cheetah Girls: One World and recent Jai Ho in which he did a cameo.He is currently playing Shaurya Goenka[1] in the serial Ek Hasina Thi (TV series) for which he received STAR Parivaar Awards for the Most Stylish Actor.[2]

Early life

Vatsal Sheth was born on 5 August 1980 in Mumbai to Gujrati parents. He is eldest of the two siblings. He studied school at Utpal Shanghvi School,did his Junior College at Gokhilibai High School (Computer Science) and received his Degree in Mathematics from Mithibai College, Vile Parle. As a child Vatsal aspired to be a scientist. In school, He developed keen interest in computers. He also wrote a few games in GW-BASIC and Pascal (programming language). He intended to become a software engineer which he later dropped after received his first significant role as Jai in Just Mohabbat[3].

Career

In Just Mohabbat, Vatsal portrayed the role of Jai going through his teenage years. Jennifer Kotwal played his friend Saloni and Chandana Sharma played his love interest Aditi. His performance was well received by both the audience as well as the critics. In 2003, director duo Abbas-Mustan announced their upcoming movie Taarzan: The Wonder Car with Vatsal Sheth and Ayesha Takia in the lead. Vatsal played the character Raj Choudary and Ajay Devgn played his father Deven Choudary. The film has highest television ratings for a film, till date. In 2007, Vatsal appeared as Vikram Singh/ Older Jaisalmer alongside Bobby Deol in Nanhe Jaisalmer. A year later Vatsal starred in the critically acclaimed Heroes as Ali .Heroes was a box-office success and boosted Vatsal’s career as he went on to sign more movies. In the same year he appeared in a cameo for Disney’s The Cheetah Girls: One World. In 2009, He was part of the star-cast in Paying Guests with Shreyas Talpade, Aashish Chaudhary, Javed Jaffrey,Riya Sen and Neha Dhupia. The film was produced by Subhash Ghai. In 2011, Vatsal played Karan in another critically acclaimed ‘Hostel’ which received positive accolades from the then President of India Mrs. Prathiba Patil. Due to high level of violence, the film received limited released but was a success. Vatsal did a cameo in blockbuster Jai Ho starring Salman Khan. In 2014 Vatsal returned to the small screen, this time in a negative role of Shaurya Goenka in Ek Hasina Thi[4] which airs on Star Plus. His negative role received positive welcome from the audience and added another dimension to his acting career. He has also appeared in television commercials with Shah Rukh Khan for Pepsi[5] and with Preity Zinta for Cadbury Perk.

Personal life

Vatsal is a Vegetarian.[6] He is a fitness enthusiast and follows teetotalism.[7] He is an avid sports lover and is a part of the Celebrity Cricket Team - Mumbai Heroes. He also plays badminton and supports Mumbai Magicians in the Indian Badminton League.
