Requests for registration

Please read the guide on the main page before requesting permission. In applying for AWB access, you indicate that you will abide by its terms.

Also, this page is for requesting AWB Access for this wiki (English Wikipedia) only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.

Please add your name to the bottom of the appropriate list (user or bot) on this page below using *{{AWBUser|your username}} ~~~~~. Enter your user name exactly as the software displays it, for example in the 'Basic information' section of your preferences. Do not use underscores instead of spaces or change the case of the first letter. Note that all usernames begin with an uppercase letter or a symbol.

If the list contains undecided entries that are over 48 hours old, please change {{noadminbacklog}} to {{adminbacklog}} at the top of this page.

Note that users with under 500 mainspace non-automated edits are rarely approved. You can check your contributions in each namespace at Tool Labs. You only need to give a reason for wanting AWB access if you have fewer than 500 mainspace non-automated edits. Administrators are automatically approved and do not need to list themselves.

If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage. If you will make many or fast automated edits using AWB, you may wish to use a separate (or bot) account for the purpose.

  • @Graeme Bartlett: Hi! Occasionally I find myself doing small, repetitive edits to fix template or table usage. I never get involved in controversial edits, and thought this tool would save me a bit of effort , otherwise I don’t have an stablished “plan of action”. Thanks! —Fitoschido [shouttrack] @ 17 August, 2014; 23:17
  • Removals are not necessarily bad at all. But to prove yourself for AWB I want to see a person writing correct English text, or correcting others. About 400 of these edits are good, but if there was a concerted effort of a couple of hundred corrections that would show the required ability. Perhaps you can edit your response above! I will also take a look at Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, for your other article, I saw mainly removals! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 14:01, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have recently been active in Wikiproject TAFI and Recent Changes Patrol. My hope is for automated general fixes only - my current needs are not complex. Actually I am the king of typographical errors and I break templates like a pro. I need all the help I can get. In time, I'll learn the more advanced features. - Kyle(talk) 02:00, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
