RajadhiRaja is a 2014 Malayalam film, directed by Ajai Vasudev and written by the duo of Udayakrishna-Siby K. Thomas.[1] The film stars Mammootty in the role of a restaurant owner, Shekharan Kutty, while Raai Laxmi plays the character of his wife, Radha.[2] The film also features Joy Mathew, Siddique, Mukesh Khanna, Jojo, Lena and Taniya Stanley in major supporting roles.[3] The film released on September 5, 2014.[4]

Plot
The story is about Shekarankutty (Mammootty), who is a common man, leading a happy family life with his wife (Raai Laxmi) and his daughter. The movie takes a turn when his past is revealed and how that changes his life forever. In his past, Shekharankutty had led a very brutal life and was a notorious don Rajashekhar. Things become more difficult for him when his family gets pushed into all the troubles. The rest of the film revolves around how Shekharankutty saves his family from his enemies.[7]
Critical reception
Sify.com rated the film as "below average" and said, "Rajadhi Raja is a mimicry of some tasteless masala flicks, which are seriously outdated. This one has perhaps been aimed at the hardcore fans of the superstar."[8] Indiaglitz.com gave six out of ten and said "Rajadhiraja is an Average Thriller" and stated "In the final analysis, 'Rajadhiraja' doesn’t offer any freshness in narratives. But it can be a fine for an one-time watch, if you are not in theatres with any big expectations."[9] Paresh C Palicha of Rediff.com gave two stars out of five with a caption "Rajadhi Raja fails to impress" and wrote "Rajadhi Raja proves to be a lacklustre Onam release"[10] Unni R Nair of Kerala9 gave two out of five and stated "Just about average, mass entertainment stuff...seems to be a mix of so many movies...watchable if you know what to expect..."[11] Deepa Soman of The Times of India gave 3.5 out of 5 and said "Rajadhiraja is a winsome film with enough moments to entertain you this Onam season."[12] The critic of IndiaGlitz also remarked that the film's theme was similar to 1999 Malayalam movie Ustaad.[9]
