What career trough?

The article states that the Ting Hai effect led to a career trough for Cheng in the 90's but his work on TV throughout this period appears to disprove this. In particular he worked for TVB during the period so I'm not sure they can be said to have avoided hiring him. Does anyone have proof otherwise? Article problems

Merger is proposed because the two are inextricably linked, and there may be little independent notability of this neologism. The sources appear to be insufficient to indicate notability and indeed that some of the info presented may be original research. Ohconfucius 01:51, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article needs to be edited to remove the fallacious jump from correlation to causation that occurs over the course of the article. Cheng is not causing a stock market drop; there merely appears to be a correlation between TV series with him in them and stock market drops. Beckism (talk) 17:51, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Chiu-Koon effect

The name "Ting Hai effect" is explained; the name "Adam Cheng effect" is transparent; but the name "Chiu-Koon effect" is mentioned without a clue. —Tamfang (talk) 08:42, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
