  • Comment: Press releases are not 'independent' sources, and do not show that a subject is notable. Also, reviews used to show that a subject has been 'taken note of' are expected to be from professional reviewers who are published in sources with editorial oversight, not from a reviewer who solicits review requests and is not part of the 'staff' of the publishing site. A review of a film by an 'amateur' reviewer does not show notability. Reventtalk 20:55, 26 September 2014 (UTC)
  • Comment: You cannot cite IMDB here (though you can link to it at the end), see WP:IMDB for why.
What you must show is coverage of this film in professional media. See WP:Notability (film). MatthewVanitas (talk) 21:50, 19 September 2014 (UTC)

The Toy Soldiers is an American feature film distributed by Mance Media. The coming-of-age drama was written and directed by Erik Peter Carlson ("Transatlantic Coffee") and stars Najarra Townsend ("Contracted", "Breakfast Buddies")[1] , Constance Brenneman ("Love and Other Drugs", "A Lesson of Love"), Nick Frangione ("Trattoria", "Friends and Lovers") , and Chandler Rylko ("Savanna", "Have Lover, Will Travel). In The Toy Soldiers, five coming-of-age stories unravel together on the final evening that local hangout, The Soldiers Roller Rink, closes its doors. During an on-going night of sex, drugs, and rock "n" roll, the innocence of youth will unravel and each individuals life will be changed forever. [2]

Erik Peter Carlson was inspired to write a personal story about the real life complexities and savageries faced by teens and their families in today's modern world. Many scenes from the film were shot at the Huntington Beach pier and the Moonlight Rollerway in Glendale.[3]

The Toy Soldiers premiered on June 8, 2014 at the Dances With Films festival as the Closing Night Feature at the Historical Chinese Theatre. [4]The film is expected to have a theatrical release in the United States on November 14, 2014.[5]

Plot

On one evening in a decade of sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll, the innocence of youth and family unravels. Five parallel coming-of-age stories dramatize the stages of grief. A youthful mother in a custody battle over her children finds tranquility with the bottle. The abuse of her ex-husband still haunts the children; a nineteen-year-old drug addict, and his younger brother, a bullied closet homosexual. There's the story of the dog; a teen who offers sexual favors to gain acceptance, the challenged classmate who would do anything for her love, and the redhead beauty, haunted by a secret, tragic past. These lives and others will change forever on this final evening before their hangout, The Toy Soldiers Roller Rink, closes its doors for the final time. [6]
