Request for edit summary

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 10% for major edits and 0% for minor edits. (Based on the last 140 major and 13 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 17:30, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Caves category

Hey Ian. A quick FYI. It's not necessary to add Category:Caves to every caves article if the article is already in a Caves in XXX category. For instance, the Raggejavreraige article is in Category:Caves in Norway which is a subcategory of Category:Caves so there's no need to add Caves again. I know it's sorta confusing, but once you get used to using categories it makes sense. If you have any questions about it, let me know. --NormanEinstein 16:50, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You mentioned not being able to email other Wikipedians. For the "Email this user" link on User and UserTalk pages to work, both you and the person you're trying to contact need to have entered their email address in the My Preferences page. And you need to check the "Enable e-mail from other users" on the same page. If you want to test it on someone, feel free to try me. :-) --NormanEinstein 17:36, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
