He currently holds world records for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time any% on the Chinese iQue Player,[8] Castlevania 64 (Carrie) on the Nintendo 64,[9] Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on the Sony PlayStation, and four of six Beetle Adventure Racing! Time Attack records on the Nintendo 64.[10]

Wright has attended many notable charity speedrunning events, including SGDQ ,AGDQ and Dreamhack 2014.[11][12][13]

Biography

Wright was born and raised in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.[1] He later moved to Chicago to attend Columbia College Chicago where he studied graphic design. After graduating, Wright worked in the freelance art and web design field.[14]

Career

In 2006 Wright gained an interest in glitches and exploits used to beat games at faster times than intended. Wright started lurking the Speed Demos Archive's forums, reading discussions about speedrunning games. Wright soon began to speedrun games himself and spent hours practicing games, most notably The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Wright practiced both of the games for hours while streaming on his Twitch account, building up a large audience. As Wright's popularity started to grow, he began to stream more games such as Paper Mario and Castlevania 64.[1][15]

In 2009, Wright and Daniel "Jiano" Hart together created the website SpeedRunsLive. The two aimed to create a "richly developed speedrunning racing platform" through an internet relay chat community run by a Racebot. Wright designed and helped code the site.[16] The website soon grew to host many speedrunners who live streamed through twitch. Wright and many other members of SpeedRunsLive have attended various charitable events in the past hosted by Speed Demos Archive, most notably Awesome Games Done Quick. Wright has supported almost all of these events by running games during marathons.

Wright gained a large enough audience that by early 2013, he was able to stream full-time by gaining revenue through advertisements.
