Suma Kanakala (born March 22, 1975) is an Indian TV anchor.

Her parents are P.N. Kutty and P. Vimala who were in Secunderabad for a very long time. She is the wife of actor Rajeev Kanakala[1] and is well known for her spontaneous humorous remarks during her shows.[2]

Career

A presenter from the age of 21, she has hosted many Telugu audio launches, film awards and functions. She is a Malayali from Kerala, but speaks Telugu fluently. Apart from Malayalam and Telugu, she is also fluent in Hindi, English, and Tamil. She has acted on Telugu television in various serials and shows since the mid-1990s, but her breakthrough came with the boom in satellite channels. Swayamvaram, Geetanjali, and Ravoyi chandamama were her major serials. Interestingly, she did not have any interest in working in films. Her interest driven away through anchoring.

Suma's flagship show is Star Mahila on ETV, which attracts a female audience.[3]

Her versatility is evident in Panchavataram on TV9. Cash on Etv and Bhale chansule on MAA TV are her current prime time shows. Suma started her own production house named K. Suma Rajeev Creations on 26 December 2012 and has produced a show named Lakku Kikku which is broadcasting on Zee Telugu. She had worked in a show named జీన్స్' (Genes). The show became a huge craze among the audience. Currently she is working in a show called Cash on Etv. Her new show named Kevu Keka on MAA TV with a co-star Mano, which is comedy show. Kevu Keka is produced by her own production house names K. Suma Rajeev Creations.

She also works as an anchor for audio functions and cinema awards for the Tollywood industry.
