Ali Raymi (الذات الاسطورية) [11] Born (December 7, 1973) is a Yemeni Boxer. He lived in Mecca prior to 1991. His professional boxing record is 24-0 (24 KOs), twenty of which occurred in the first round versus undefeated fighters.[13]

Early life

Little is known about Ali Raymi early life. However, his records shows he has no mother & Yemeni official records start with his entry into Yemen in 1991 in the aftermath of the First Gulf War.[14] His Yemeni military records listed him in 1994 as 1st Lieutenant in command of the then newly founded amphibious elite force & in the following decade military records shows him representing the Yemeni military as a boxer.[11]

Boxing career

Yemeni News archives[15][16] show that Ali Raymi started boxing at the late age of 30 representing the Yemeni military, compiling an amateur record of 117-2 (117 KO). He was a Yemeni amateur champion in 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007.[15][16] It was during this time that Ali Raymi started breaking Yemeni cultural norms by drinking and selling alcohol, and participating in private unsanctioned fights for the next 3 years. Ali Raymi grew to have a reputation in Sana'a as a loose cannon.[17]

On November 11, 2013, Ali Raymi set a new world record[18] by winning his first 20 fights as a professional by first-round knockout.[19]
