Jack Johnson (born May 18, 1975) is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, and former professional surfer. Johnson is known primarily for his work in the folk rock, soft rock, and acoustic rock genres. He is also known for organizing an annual event, the Kōkua Festival; a music event which promotes the idea of providing students with experiences that will enhance their appreciation for and understanding of their environment so they will be lifelong stewards of the earth.Photograph: Peter Chiapperino, Photocyclone
