Help needed

Could you please check if I am right or the user Subhash is right on the article Gujarat Riots.I believe this user is weasling heavily on this and all other articles.

As the articles concern Hindu and Muslim religious groups it is preferable to have some neutral person mediate.

All of my edits have been NPOV and backed by facts and references. I have scrupulously adhrered to all of Wikipedia's basic rules. It is Lkadvani who has been quote mining and presenting biased information out of context. He has frequently engaged in polemical attacks on Hindus in various talk pages and is known for his careful and Goebbellian style of propaganda in his edits... I don't involve myself in disputes between editors; please see Wikipedia:Dispute resolution. Essjay (Talk) 04:20, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have never left any comment om Wikipedia

I keep getting messages that I have left some questionable or offending message on Wikipedia. Before this message I have never left any kind of message. Could you please explain why I am being accused of this?

Thank You, TennisMe2@aol.com —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 152.163.100.203 (talkcontribs) .

This is a common problem. It's explained better than I can here: Wikipedia:Advice to AOL users. (I'm also emailing you in case you don't check back here). --maru (talk) contribs 03:12, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:User:Pherring

Thanks for the message, Essjay. I did my best to assume good faith, as I hope you saw in my first message. You've been around longer than me, so I don't have to tell you what is typically thought of when you see a new user who shows uncommon knowledge of Wikipedia (edit summaries, signatures, using the phrase "reverting vandalism," etc.), but appears to be using misleading edit summaries to seemingly vandalize pages like Wikipedia and User:Jimbo Wales. However, I obviously trust you to the fullest, and will not leave any more messages along those lines to User:Pherring. I have also removed my {{bv}} and apologized for it. I hope your friend will continue to join us, and best of luck in the teaching. EWS23 (Leave me a message!) 06:47, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely; I didn't mean to sound harsh (that's the second time I've said that today, maybe I need to start having someone proof my comments...), I was just worried he'd end up blocked before I could fix things. ;) If you check his contribs, you'll see where we did a little practice in my sandbox, showing him to use a summary and everything; I just forgot to fire rollbacks at him and see how he responded. (I feel like a tank commander!) Anyhow, I've suggested that he look for vandalism on pages that are less likely to be caught; it'll benefit the project and keep him out of trouble.
I appreciate your work (I see you around all the time) and I'm glad to know you were on the case; not everybody would notice that it's a bit odd for a brand new user to display Wikipedia knowledge right off the bat. (Then again, most aren't spending thier time in a chat channel with admins, either. ;D) Anyhow, keep up the good work! Essjay (Talk) 06:53, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the response and kind comments. Don't worry, your words weren't harsh at all. Another user in the same situation may have left on my talk page, "zOMG!!! The dude was just trying to help and you gave him a {{bv}}?? Go read WP:BITE and if you do it again you'll end up on WP:ANI!" :o) One of my strongest beliefs is not biting the newcomers, so anytime someone even hints that I might have, I try my best to evaluate my actions and reverse the situation if possible. I hope we get to work together more in the future, and always feel free to stop by my talk page for even the smallest of reasons. EWS23 (Leave me a message!) 07:01, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, Essjay, thanks for the barnstar. Of all the admin tools, I often find that the rollback button has been the most useful among them, especially when dealing with that strings of vandalism such as was occuring on Wikipedia earlier tonight. I am most honored to receive a barnstar from you, and let me know if there's anything I can do for you in the future. (P.S.- Apologies if you prefer people to respond on their own talk pages. I tend to respond on the other person's talk page, as I love to see the orange message bar, and I wouldn't want to deny others that pleasure. ;o) Take care.) Help him out

Could one of you who is an administrator mark his status as "out" for today? The page is User:Essjay/Status and should have an "out" entry in the history. Our internet service went down while he was on last night and didn't come back up until about an hour ago, so he's still marked as in (I think it says "Mediation Committee" at the top of the page). He made me promise to sign on and leave a message that he had a dental appointment today and had to be sedated (I've just put him to bed) and won't be back on until later this evening. He didn't want his status marked as in when he wasn't here to help. Thanks to whomever can help. Robbie31 15:47, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
