Luigi Natoli, D.D. (June 15, 1799 – February 25, 1875) was the Roman Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Caltagirone and Archibishop of Messina, Italy.
Biography
Born in Patti, Italy, son of a noble family of Lord Girolamo Natoli and Lady Donna Nicoletta Piccolo, where he was ordained a priest in 1822,
He went to America at the age of fifteen. He was educated at St. Charles's Seminary, Philadelphia, and in the Propaganda College, Rome where he was ordained a priest in 1848. Luigi Natoli was Professor and President of the Seminario diocesano.
In 1870 during the First Vatican Council strongly supported the definition of Dogma of infallibility of the Pope.
He died in 1875. He rests in Messina Cathedral.
