Dil Dosti Duniyadari is a Marathi television sitcom produced by Sanjay Jadhav.[2] It started airing on Zee Marathi from March 9, 2015. It revolves around a circle of Six friends living as paying guest in Mumbai and the house owner Sujay, who is of same age group. Total No. of episodes 103 (As of 7 July 2015)

Premise

‘Dil Dosti Duniyadaari’ is a journey of 6 friends, all of different shades and colors. Meenal, Ana, Reshma, Sujay, Kaivalya and Aashutosh not only share the same flat but also share their lives with each other. All of them have come to Mumbai with a reason of their own. And when destiny brings them together, it becomes a mad man’s world to live in! Each day brings about a new set of fun-filled expeditions for them. No matter how bad the situation is they always stand by each other. The life in this house is no less than a roller coaster ride of emotions. These 6 individuals have now found family away from family. From here begins a journey of evolving relationships, changing dreams, heartbreaks, countless moments of pain and joy. But most of all an unending journey of lifelong friendship.

Plot

The plot of Dil Dosti Duniyadari is vaguely derived from the popular American sitcom "Friends".Unlike many other Marathi serials, Dil Dosti Duniyadari does not revolve around a mother and her daughter in law. Instead, it features six friends, 3 guys & 3 girls belonging to middle-class families and their ups & downs in day-to-day life resulting in comedies and sometimes tragedies while living life and sticking around for each other.

Cast

Suvrat Joshi as Sujay Sathe "Scholar" - A very scholarly intellectual who works in an IT corporate sector and has migrated from Pune. Unkown to others, he has a sister who is suffering from schizophrenia, for whom he cares a lot. He is the 'Wikipedia' of the house. He is very strict about manners, money and discipline. But at the same time he cares for all his friends and stand with them in need.

Amey Wagh as Kaivalya Karkhanis (KK), - A boy from a rich business family but has fled from there for to pursue his dreams. He aspires to be a great singer and music composer one day,and to show his father the real worth of music. Kaivalya is as proud as a peacock, and has a sarcastic sense of humour but is willing to undertake any task for his friends.

Pushkaraj Chirputkar as Aashutosh Shiwalkar "Aashu" - An unemployed youth and the rural face of Maharashtra, coming from marathwada or ghats. He works for a party organizer to earn his livelihood. Kinjal is the love of his life. She is Gujarati.He always borrows from his friends and never repays them back. He speaks poor english but tries hard to learn. Aashu also has a second face which is not seen by others except Rakesh. He acts as a savior when his friends are in need but do not act like one.

Pooja Thombre as Anna Mathews - A catholic girl who is originally from Goa. She works in the fashion industry. She is very innocent and youngest of all due to which she becomes a soft target to others to make fun off. Anna had a not so happy childhood and her parents don't believe in her ambition. In spite of that she is working her way out to prove to her family and to live her dreams. And her friends are helping her to do that.

Swanandi Tikekar as Meenal Shevale "Meenu" - A girl who has left her house to become an acctress. She is a very open-minded girl and is quite confident about herself. She depicts an independent twenty first century city girl. While she appears to be strong and confident on the outside, inside, she grieves about the way she and her sisters were neglected by her chauvinistic father.

'Sakhi Gokhale as Reshma Patil - She is the newest member of "Mazghar". A young housewife who comes to stay with this group after getting exposed to the fact that her husband has married her only for getting money from his father. In reality, he loves someone else. With this, her newly married life ends, at the beginning. She starts living with other roomies and becomes one of them. With her new friends she uncovers various aspects of life which she never encountered. She hails from Akola.

Rakesh Inamdar - Reshma's estranged husband. He is blackmailed by his father into marrying Reshma, though he has a live in relationship with Nisha. Rakesh is a selfish, greedy, money minded, irresponsible and an inconsiderate person who does not care about family, in contrast to Sujay.

Reshma believes that Rakesh will come back to her, but her roommates loathe and disdain him. Nevertheless, they still tolerate his antics. Rakesh fears Ashutosh the most, as he once beat him up and hung him upside down a ceiling fan, when Rakesh betrates Reshma.

Reception

The serial is directed by Vinod Lavekar. It became the highest viewed Marathi television show in April 2015.[3]
